Thornhill MPP Laura Smith Recognizes Alaedin Travel Canada During Office Visit

Thornhill, Ontario — Alaedin Travel Canada welcomed Laura Smith, Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Thornhill, to its office on September 2, 2026. During the visit, Smith met with company leaders AmirHassan Jafari and Atousa Goudarzian, along with members of the Alaedin Travel Canada team.

Alaedin Travel Canada also received a certificate signed by Smith acknowledging its hard work, dedication and commitment to the Thornhill community. The certificate also highlighted the company's connection to Thornhill, where it has established its Canadian operations.

Recognizing Alaedin Travel Canada as a Valued Part of Thornhill

The certificate, dated September 2, 2026, offers a clear expression of appreciation from Thornhill’s provincial representative. It states:

“As the Member of Provincial Parliament for the Riding of Thornhill, I am pleased to recognize Alaedin Travel Canada for your hard work, dedication and commitment to the Thornhill community.”

The message goes on to recognize the company’s decision to establish itself in Thornhill:

“Thank you for choosing Thornhill and for being a valued part of our community.”

For Alaedin Travel Canada, the recognition reflects both the company's work in travel and tourism and its connection to the Thornhill community. It also acknowledges the dedication of the people behind the business.

The certificate also commends the company’s commitment to helping foster safe tourism and travel experiences. Its closing message looks towards continued success and growth alongside the community, ending with the words:

“Let us continue to grow Thornhill together!”

Laura Smith’s Role in Ontario and Tourism Experience

Laura Smith has represented Thornhill in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since June 2022 and was re-elected in February 2025. At the time of the visit, her responsibilities included serving as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, with a focus on housing. She also held the role of First Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

Her background also includes experience in Ontario’s tourism sector. From June 2022 to March 2024, she served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. This previous role provides relevant context for her visit to a travel agency and tour operator involved in Ontario tourism.

A Thornhill Business with an International Outlook

Alaedin Travel Canada operates from World on Yonge in Thornhill, serving travellers in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Its office provides a local base for a business whose work extends across Canada and into international travel markets.

The company’s services include international flight booking, hotel reservations, Canada tours, worldwide travel packages, customized travel planning and corporate travel. It also provides MICE services, including arrangements for meetings, incentive travel, conferences and exhibitions. These services support individual travellers, families, private groups and business clients.

Alongside helping Canadian residents travel abroad, Alaedin Travel Canada develops Canadian itineraries for international visitors and works with overseas travel agencies. Its inbound and domestic travel services include destinations such as Toronto, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver and Banff.

For the company, these local and international dimensions belong together: maintaining a personal connection with the community it serves while helping travellers and travel businesses discover Canada and the wider world.

Follow-Up That Connected Recognition with Industry Opportunities

The engagement continued after the office visit. On September 3, Smith’s office sent a follow-up message to Jafari and Goudarzian thanking them for the meeting with the team and sharing tourism-sector contacts on the MPP’s behalf. These included contacts at the Ontario Motor Coach Association (OMCA) and Visit Markham.

Subsequent correspondence from OMCA addressed Alaedin Travel Canada’s plans to expand its inbound and group tourism business in Ontario and across Canada. The correspondence outlined opportunities to connect with motor coach operators, accommodation providers, attractions, destinations and other tourism suppliers, as well as information about membership and industry networking.

These introductions created a practical starting point for further industry conversations. They added a business-development dimension to the visit, linking local recognition with opportunities to strengthen the relationships involved in organizing group travel.

For Alaedin Travel Canada, the follow-up provided an opportunity to explore industry connections relevant to its work as a Canadian tour operator and its plans for international group travel. These exchanges were introductory and did not represent finalized partnerships.

Recognizing the People Behind the Business

The visit also placed attention on the team behind Alaedin Travel Canada. In its follow-up, Smith’s office specifically acknowledged meeting both company leaders and their team, reflecting the personal nature of the visit.

Behind every itinerary are people coordinating arrangements, answering questions and helping travellers make decisions. For Alaedin Travel Canada, recognition of the business is also recognition of that day-to-day effort.

The company sees the September visit and certificate as an encouraging milestone in its relationship with Thornhill—a reminder that a travel business can maintain an international outlook while remaining closely connected to the community it calls home.

Alaedin Travel Canada thanks MPP Laura Smith and her office for the visit, the certificate of recognition and the subsequent introductions. The team looks forward to continuing its work with travellers, industry professionals and the local community.
